چکیده
Despite their extensive and decade-long application in wastewater treatment, activated carbon remains one of the most viable adsorbents, with substantive practical application, due to high pollutant binding capacity. In this study, commercially available charcoal was applied uptake aqueous cadmium [Cd(II)] ion. The effect some process variables on Cd (II) investigated via batch mode. Furthermore, adsorbents’ surface charge (pHPZC), morphology (using SEM) functional groups FTIR) were explained. pH dependence present adsorption system revealed, while optimum recorded at 5.0. Similarly, (mg/g) decreased increasing adsorbent dosage possible active sites clogging, overcrowding interference. isothermal kinetics analyses experimental data, which aptly validated using hybrid error model, respectively depicted Langmuir isotherm pseudo-second-order kinetic model as best fit. A capacity 682.5 mg g?1 also study. Consequently, characterized by an equilibrium timeframe industrial practicability; hence, successfully for uptake.

Statistical physics modeling of equilibrium adsorption of cadmium ions onto activated carbon, chitosan and chitosan/activated carbon composite
The adsorption ability of activated carbon, chitosan, and chitosan/activated carbon composite for cadmium separation from aqueous solution was analyzed via statistical physical modeling. The equilibrium data were analyzed by Langmuir, Hill, double layer model, and the multi-layer model with saturation isotherm models. Results showed that the multi-layer model with saturation could well describe...
متن کاملEquilibrium and Kinetic Studies on Lead (II) Adsorption by Sugarcane Bagasse Derived Activated Carbon (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Municipal and industrial wastewater contain a lot of contaminants. The major contaminants of concern are heavy metals. Heavy metals are known to be toxic, non-biodegradable and have a long half-life. The release of untreated wastewater containing heavy metals can cause serious problems to human, plants and animals. In this study, activated carbon was developed from sugarcane bagasse and its eff...

Background: Industrial development has caused the release of various pollutants including heavy metals into the environment. These toxic compounds are extremely dangerous to living beings and the environment due to their non-biodegradability, severe toxicity, carcinogenicity, the ability to be accumulated in nature and the ability to contaminate groundwater and surface water. The aim of the pre...
متن کاملRhodamine B adsorption by activated carbon: Kinetic and equilibrium studies
A carbonaceous adsorbent (TPC) prepared from Thespusia populinia bark by acid treatment was tested for its efficiency in removing Rhodamine B (RDB). The parameters studied include agitation time, initial dye concentration, carbon dose, pH and temperature. The adsorption followed first order reaction equation and the rate is mainly controlled by intra-particle diffusion. Freundlich and Langmuir ...
